Aerial sensing is gathering information about an area from a distance using aircraft or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). UAVs fly approximately 120 meters over the ground, while aircraft fly around 6000 meters. Aerial imaging is more desirable when remote sensing is ineffective and in applications that call for the highest possible spatial and temporal resolutions. There has been a notable advancement in the field of aerial photography brought about by the substitution of digital sensors for cameras. Some advantages of digital sensors over analogue cameras include increased spatial resolution, simultaneous image capture in various electromagnetic spectrum bands, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) cost‐effectiveness, and temporal affordability. This technique could be more flawless; there is an opportunity for improvement. To make this technology more practical and progress agriculture, it is essential to examine the effects of technology at every stage of agriculture, such as assessing yield and fertilizer response, plant, and crop farming, planting, weed mapping and management, aerial mustering, geofencing, and virtual perimeters, etc. This study examines how aerial sensing and imaging technology is used worldwide in agriculture and animal husbandry. Assessment will help investigate the challenges posed by aerial sensing applications and make a case for advancements in this area. This section is also vital for understanding its applications in regions that have yet to use these techniques previously.
