This chapter compares interconnected performance with individual performance, as a way of exploring networked performance and non‐networked performance in future warfare. Since this has been only an exploration using baseball as a proxy. Baseball also has what can be considered networked, collaborative tasks. The chapter then addresses collective performance, and examines individual and interdependent primitive performance measures in baseball. Next, it computes the maximum likelihood estimate, and the imparity statistics. The chapter also compares maximum likelihood estimate and imparity statistic values to see if there is a difference in parity between individual and interconnected effort in Major League Baseball (MLB). Then, based on what has been hypothesized about the effects of networks and unmanned systems in future warfare, the chapter explores what the results from baseball the authors suggest should expect in networked combat performance.
