Major new developments in the history and heritage of ASIS&T and of information science generally are presented with an opportunity for further discussion. First, a report on the work of the ASIS&T Curator, Deanna Morrow Hall, and on the progress of the ASIS&T Curator's Working Group's strategic plan for managing ASIST's information assests and for stewardship of its heritage resources will be presented. Second, the ambitious program of the ASIS&T History Committee to encourage attention to historical work by promoting open access to past publications, the encouragement of oral histories, and other initiatives will be reported by the Committee Chair, Tatjana Apararc‐Jelušić. Third, Olivier Le Deuff illustrates analysis of the social and conceptual contexts of historically important pioneers with his visualization of the world of Paul Otlet (1868–1944).
