To solve the efficiency issue of dedicated bus lanes (DBL), a time division multiplexing (TDM) method of DBL is proposed that the general vehicle can share DBL and avoid collision with the bus according to its GPS location. To harmonize the running of the bus and the general vehicle, a method is raised to divide space segment and time slice of DBL. At last, the PARAMICS simulating experiment shows the proposed DBL multiplexing approach could not only ensure bus priority but also promote the higher traffic speed, the lower traffic density and the shorter delay time of downstream intersection than before.
