The advances of computers and their application technologies have enabled the intelligent railway systems to be more popular. The simulation of power feeding systems totally including trains, train scheduling and substation systems needed reflection in revision of time table diagrams, performance of rolling stock, substation systems and an increase of substations. To meet these requirements we improved the railway systems simulator, we did the simulations in many cases to evaluate power feeding systems for regenerative trains. Quick study of energy savings and accurate estimation of power capacity rating have also been enabled. The paper will describe the improved points of the simulator and the simulated results for evaluation which will compare 4 types of substation systems, diode type rectifier (A-type), thyristor type rectifier with constant voltage regulation(B-type), diode type rectifier with regenerative inverter(C-type) and thyristor type rectifier with both constant voltage regulation and regenerative inverter(D-type), on a suburban railway line for commuter services.
