The dual channel active noise controller, based on a new feedback active noise controller, has been tested inside an automobile for reducing the acoustic engine noise level around the two front seat headrests. Each thin speaker has been mounted in the ceiling, above each headrest. The microphones have been situated in the headrests. The sound pressure level produced by the speakers has to be higher than the noise sound pressure level inside the car on order to get an acoustic noise attenuation. The results obtained show: a) a very fast adaptation with the engine speed variation, b) more than 15 dB of attenuation at the low frequency 'boom' and c) a robust working stability. Besides, the feedback control system does not need any reference sensor on the engine. The system can be used in any car and the total cost of the system is very low.
