In this paper the authors describe a quarter car active suspension system as an LPV system of which parameters lie in a known compact set. Since the parameters are not directly measurable, the authors add a parameter identifier to the gain scheduling controller for the LPV system. The proposed parameter dependent state feedback controller which is calculated by solving the set of parameter dependent algebraic riccati equations, guarantee the robust stability and the induced power norm performance criterion in the steady state. And the computer simulation results support the effectiveness of this approach. Further researches on the transient behavior analysis, the real time implementation issues and the experiment in the test rig will be proceeded. The gain scheduling in the test rig will be proceeded. The gain scheduling controller for an LPV system is thought to be used in many other vehicle control subsystems whenever the parameters are directly measurable or identified on line like one in this paper.
