With regard to oil-leakage of shock absorbers, causing damage to oil seals, the problem sites have not been identified. In this study, the super finish grinding process was focused on, inspired by observation that the plated surface of oil leaked rod pistons had a number of micro-flaws. A measure for preventing loose abrasives from burying was examined by repetitive assumption and review of the causes in that process, and the rate of oil leakage was successfully reduced.
