Among the human factors of rear-end collisions, the danger concerning brake timing judgement when approaching the preceding vehicle has been studied. It has shown that driver is not always taking into account of emergency braking of the preceding vehicle. As a way of reducing the risk of accidents caused by such errors, it will be proposed Emergency Braking Advanced Advisory System in the Advanced Safety Vehicle (ASV) project, and monuted a system to Nissan ASV. This system is designed to anticipate emergency braking by monitoring on the stop lamp before the actual deceleration.
