BADICHEQ is a compact plug-in module for on-board battery management. Its hardware structure combines voltage measurement and recharge of individual batteries in a battery pack. These facilities and the proven algorithm result in accurate, electric fuel gate indication, battery history monitoring with PC-evaluation and non-destructive charge equalization. Completed with an external controllable battery charger the system allows for single battery voltage related charge current control, yielding minimum charge time and energy and eliminating overcharge problems, such as drying-out and overheating of particular batteries. The first BADICHEQ version was published two years ago at the EVS 11. This paper describes the actual state of development and experience from over 300 applications so far.
