In the present paper two kinds of thermoplastic composites, respectively with poly-carbonate (PC) and poly-phenylene-sulfide (PPS) matrices, have been considered. For each material, specimens with three types of joint have been taken into account, i.e. mechanically jointed by means of rivets, bonded with adhesive film and fusion bonded without any added material. First of all each kind of coupon has been statically characterized; then further investigations, carried out on meaningful statistical samples, have consisted in the application of constant amplitude tension-tension, tension-compression and compression-compression fatigue loads. Such experimentations have resulted in curves relating stiffness decrease vs. cycles number and damage growth, Wöhler curves, Haigh diagrams, X-Rays and C-Scan plots for all kinds of materials and specimens.
