Statoil and SINTEF Production Engineering have jointly developed a remotely operated subsea machine tool system for deep water machining and inspection of subsea well heads and multibore conectors. The system is designed for water depths down to 400 meters. The project has been initiated and founded by Statoil, while the project work has been carried out by SINTEF. The system will provide a number of optional machining operations togeher with specific inspection systems for dimension and surface roughness documentation both before and after machining.
