The work describes proportional valves for changing flow rate, produced and used in hydraulic power transmission systems and a new system for proportional control with adjustable weir installed on the overflow valve. Methods of arranging throttle gap in which electromechanical transducers are: the electromagnet with proportional force and (armature) travel and the torque motor in servovalves, have been discussed. An analysis of the existing solutions has been carried out in the summary. The new system for flow rate proportional control with adjustable weir on the proportional overflow valve has been discussed in detail. An analysis of the new proportional system s dynamics has been carried out by meens of computer simulation from which time transients and limit amplification of the feedback circuit have been obtained. Selection of the limit circuit amplification has been made on the basis of the adjustable weir slide valve travel on the phase plane. Laboratory tests of the new proportional system with controlled weir have confirmed the results obtained by means of computer simulation. The attempts of industrial application of the new proportional system with adjustable weir on the Formo-plast 45 Injection Moulding Machine have fully confirmed its advantages and usability in constructing modern machines.
