This study describes a comprehensive mathematical modelling analysis of the photochemically-generated secondary pollutants produced downwind of London during one day's photochemistry. The pollutants of greatest interest are ozone, nitrogen dioxide, PAN, sulphate aerosol, gaseous nitric acid hydrogen peroxide and formaldehyde. The major played by motor vehicle exhaust emissions is identified and the impact of future emission controls are evaluated.
