AUSPACE Limited has delivered the flight model of an Infrared Focal Plane Array (IR FPA) to the Australian Space Office. The IR FPA is a major component of the second generation Along Track Scanning Radiometer (ATSR-2) to fly on the ERS-2 Satellite. This paper describes the role of the ATSR instrument, and the fabrication, integration and test of the IR FPA for ATSR-2. The potential role for Australia in the follow-on program, the Advanced Along Track Radiometer, is discussed.
