The use of KORBX, a linear problem solver based on Karmarkar's algorithm, to solve military airlift problems is described. Such problems involve so many variables and constraints that using a simplex-based system is not feasible. Three specific applications are examined: optimal channel routing of cargoes, cargo distribution, and wartime patient evacuation.
