The two-degree-of-freedom model of automobiles with semiactive suspension is analyzed theoretically using computer simulation. A nonlinear feedback control system by which the coefficient of the damper force is continuously modulated is proposed. The resulting vibration suppression characteristics for a sinusoidal input and for the case when the vehicle is excited by a random road surface are analyzed.
