The growing number of vehicles equipped with an injection motor, electronically controlled, is undeniable and even almost inevitable for engines of 2000 cm3 by virtue of anti-pollution regulations which will be coming into force by the end of the 1980s. To speedily control the feeding function of the engine and to ensure stability of diagnostics, use of suitable apparatus is necessary. It is one of these pieces of apparatus that has been tested, i.e. the Tecnotest Injection Tester 722, distributed in France by the Tecno France Society of Cergy Pontoise, importing a whole series of TecnoTest apparatus. It offers the possibility of controlling the circuit of anti-locking braking (ABS of Bosch or Teves). For the anti-locking braking system ABR of Bendix, mounted on a Peugeot 405, Tecnotest has conceived another piece of equipment; in this case, the control separated from the elements is of less importance since this type of installation has a computer provided with a memory circuit for failures which can be read back at the work place. The principles of control are then described together with the structure and operation of Tecnotest 722.
