For pt.II see ibid., September, p.28 (1987). Instrument landing systems (ILS) and the way in which they assist the pilot in landing an aircraft, are described. Azimuth guidance and vertical guidance are discussed, and the equipment required by the aircraft, including receivers for the marker, localiser, and glide path signals are considered.
