Recently, research has been carried out on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), which controls the flow of vehicle traffic. In this paper, an active front wheel steering control system is proposed as part of the lowest level control system of the ITS. The main objective of this study is to design an active front wheel steering system which has desired steering characteristics and robustness for changes in its environment. In this control system, wher the vehicle lateral force is less than its maximum value the vehicle will maintain a constant radius of curvature for a constant steering angle even when the forward velocity varies. Even when the lateral force reeches its maximum value, this controller reduces the increase of the radius of curvature by maintaining the maximum lateral force in order to avoid the vehicle control system's instability.
