A composite controller has been designed consisting of two controllers. These are a fast levelling controller to operate at low frequencies and an adaptive vibration controller to operate at high frequencies. The AVC has been demonstrated by itself to be able to adapt to various system parameters and road frequency spectra. When merged with the FLC in a composite control structure, the result was a controller which was able to fulfil the needs for both fast levelling and vibration isolation. Furthermore, this controller was found to operate at near optimal ride performance.
