This paper describes a unique Civil Aviation Authority approved, 7 1/2 deg oriented, aircraft ground lighting (AGL) system developed for London STOL (short take-off and landing) airport. This installation has advanced the development of a STOL AGL facility and also innovated a static switch for a low cost taxiway routeing system at an airport which is pioneering STOL operations.
