In order to realise the high precision control in the motor and drive system of hybrid-electric vehicle, it is necessary to test the rotor position and motor speed in real-time. The main sensors used for testing the rotor position and motor speed are photoelectric encoder and resolver. The resolver is gaining wide acceptance due to its reliable mechanical structure and ease of integration with motor systems. This paper mainly studies the important parameters of the resolver including the structure of stator and rotor, the influence of air-gap length by rotor shape, the winding way of exciting output winding, deduces the formula of back-EMF, carries out dynamic experiment on resolver and presents the waveform of back-EMF under working status.
