Taking the widely used A pillar structure as the research object, this paper discusses the impact of A pillar structure on driving safety through analysis of obstacle angle and structural strength of A pillar. In addition, combining with CAE analysis, sectional area of A pillar is properly reduced, the internal structure and joint-structure of A pillar is optimized, and obstacle angle is reduced in the premise of meeting the requirements of the strength. Therefore, the driving safety is improved and the fuel economy is also promoted to a certain extent.
