An improved fatigue design methods for rotor blades provide the engineer the opportunity to enhance the material usage and detect critical areas in terms of fatigue in the early design stage. The usage of non-linear Goodman Diagrams coupled with the analysis of strains and stresses in various directions, increases the accuracy of the material prediction. In this study the damage is calculated following the Palmgren and Miner rule. For further analysis other approaches should be implemented, which are more aligned to the behavior of fiber composites. For example in Post et al. make a review and an evaluation of state of the art spectrum loading for the modeling of variable amplitude fatigue of composite materials. The differences in the damage calculations, have to be analyzed more in detail. This encloses an intensive study of how loads can be applied on 3-D FEM-Blade-Models in an appropriate way in order to model the load curve along the blade more realistic.
