An Beispielen des Materialtransports in der Gewinnungsindustrie - Braunkohletagebau, Steinbruch, Schottergewinnung - wird die Auswirkung dieser aktiven Sitzfederung insbesondere im Hinblick auf die EU-Richtlinie 2002/44/EG aufgezeigt. Die Ergebnisse aus umfangreichen Schwingungsmessungen im Praxiseinsatz werden vorgestellt. Ergänzend z um Bereich der Ganzkörperschwingungen, der auf den bewerteten Effektivbeschleunigungen beruht, werden Aspekte der Fahrsicherheit und auch subjektive Erfahrungen mit dieser neuen Technologie aufgezeigt. Alles im direkten Vergleich zu konventionell luftgefederten Sitzen .

    On the VDI-Conference 2007 a new type of an active pneumatic suspension system was presented. The benefit in both - vibration reduction for the driver and limitation of the relative stroke of the suspension system - was shown by means of dynamic simulation and laboratory tests with masses and test persons. But the proof of the suitability under rough and wide spread various working conditions was still an open point. The development of the active pneumatic system (APS) in particular the valve system, the on board control system, sensor technology and cable harness is now finished and in use in normal working life. This paper presents results from the field examination - performed on various machines under real working conditions - under normal work cycles in the mining industries. Active seats fitted on an articulated dumper (70t) used in material transportation in a quarry and on a heavy articulated truck used in material transportation in coal mining industry had been measured. The seats, especially the vertical damping were adjusted in a realistic way by the test drivers and the measurements were performed with the active system switched on and off. Each measurement has been repeated and the data were analysed in view on WBV (Whole Body Vibration) and controllability of the machine. The active system provides an improvement in reduction of W B O of about 30%. This means a reduction of the risk by whole body vibration by 50%. In addition the controllability was improved. Driver questionnaire as well as the measurement of the work cycle time prove this. In some conditions the drivers acceptance of specific machine types and working conditions just started with the usage of this kind of seat technology. This system is limited to machines and vehicles which have a sufficient air power supply on board. But these results from the field show clearly, that the use of active suspension systems is justified - to improve the working life and to increase overall effectiveness of the user - employer and employee.
