This article will develop a method for a model-based draft design for a low fuel consumption hybrid steering system, taking particular account of the respective system configuration characteristics and their operating conditions. In addition, the article will present an effective development strategy for designing a simulation environment and for validating it, with the aim of producing a well-researched evaluation of the potential while concentrating on the optimum usage of development resources in the given development environment. This work will make a contribution to the systematic analysis through modeling of the potential of technology variants in the early pre-development phase and to formulating a well-researched recdfrirnendation for the subsequent product design process.
