This paper presents a coupling of a geometrically exact rotor blade analysis with unsteady aerodynamics and dynamic inflow. Helicopter rotor exhibits an environment different from that in a fixed-wing aircraft due to its complex aerodynamic condition as well as different structural behavior. To understand its unique characteristics and alleviate the problems caused by them, it is required to develop an accurate aeroelastic analysis. To describe the structural behavior of helicopter rotor precisely, geometrical exactness should be considered. In order to capture physical reality in unsteady aerodynamics and to carry out the system stability analysis, a generalized dynamic wake formulation is used. With these, development of a practical analytical framework is conducted for fluid-structure interaction in helicopter rotor. The present framework is established for a pre-twisted, off-hinged and pre-coned rotor blade by combining appropriate structural and aerodynamic model. The transient solutions regarding the airloads and structural deflections are obtained and compared with the other available results.
