Electrical performance prediction of solar cells is essential for planning of long term space missions of satellites and rovers. This holds in particular if the environmental conditions which have an effect on solar cell performance such as the incident intensity, the spectral distribution and the temperature are changing during the mission. Two independent approaches for performance prediction of triple-junction solar cells under low intensity, low temperature (LILT) conditions are presented and discussed. Measurements under extreme scenarios were performed to validate the performance prediction models.
