Sandwiform is a thermoplastic sandwich composite used in the automotive industry. The aim of this study is to characterize its static behaviour as well as its crashworthiness. An orthotropic behavior has been identified by means of quasi-static tension tests, for the sandwich material and for its components independently. In the same manner, the strain rate dependency of the core and the skins has been studied separately. For the core, static and dynamic flatwise compression tests allowed to quantify the strain rate dependency of the yield stress. The skin's strain rate dependency has been studied by means of perforation tests performed on an inversed perforation Hopkinson bar device.
