Traditional product development process is costly and time-consuming. It requires system components being fabricated, assembled and tested. System-engineering based sustainable development enables optimised solutions to the problem by confronting all mutually opposed requirements. This paper proposes application of an advanced tool of systems engineering - integrated virtual reality with artificial intelligence in the sustainable development of braking systems by integrating design, calculation and testing. It enables design engineer 'to see' the results of the design, calculation, simulation, tests and/or verification work. The proposed methodology is transferable to other automotive systems and components.
