This paper presents forward auto tracking electro-hydraulic servo system to rail crack detection vehicle. The electro-hydraulic servo systems take advantage of the servo motor control system for its low current drive and high frequent dynamics. The aim of the control system is to track a sine wave with the frequency 3 Hz and the magnitude of 25 mm. Expanding the band width of system is the most important. It's well known that if accurate parameters of a system are known in advance, a more sophisticated feedforward controller can be designed to expand the band width of the system. So the inverse of the close loop system transfer function can be introduced as the forward filter to realize Perfect Tracking Control (PTC). But the non-cancellation zero in minimum phase system makes the PTC disable. For this reason adaptive Zero Phase Error Tracking Controller (ZPETC) on feedforward controller is put forward to get PTC. A numerical example is used to illustrate the implementation of the algorithm.
