The project targets to develop an optimised cell design for easy module assembly and to design a cheap module housing has been reached successfully. A general module housing concept has been developed that is suitable for automotive applications. The power density of the developed 150 F / 60 V capacitor module based on the developed module design is 1.6 kW/kg and 2.0 kW/l respectively. The energy density is 2.3 Wh/kg and 2.7 Wh/l. The long term stability of the newly developed module design has been proven by charge / discharge and vibrations tests. After more than 75.000 charge and discharge cycles the cells showed practically no degradation. Vibration tests showed no influence to the capacitor performance either.
