A test device for the inspection of offshore oil pipeline defects based on magnetic flux leakage (MFL), to ensure safety of oil transmission, is described. MFL nondestructive testing originates from Michael Faraday's discovery of electromagnetic induction and can be used for testing conducting materials. MFL utilizes permanent magnets to magnetize a sample of saturation and the magnetic flux distributes equally in the sample when there is no defect. The pipeline inspection device speed is 0.5 Kn/h, the operating temperature is from 5 to 80 degree C, and the maximum pressure is 400 MPa.
