The concept of the vehicle transmission with a coaxial position of the input shaft 'in' and the output shaft 'out' is presented in the paper. A stepless adjusting hydrostatic gear is arranged parallel to the fiveshaft-planetary-gear. A planetary-gear at the output side is able to realize four speeds. Only a part of the total power is carried by the hydrostatic gear. Therefore the vehicle transmission possesses comparatively good efficiencies. In the fiveshaft-planetary-gear there are two connecting shafts and 3 coupling shafts. Because there are two kinematic degrees of freedom two independently given numbers of revolution determine the revolution-behaviour of the fiveshaft-planetary-gear. All number of revolution are linearly interdependent. Two solutions for the fiveshaft-planetary-gear in the concept of the vehicle transmission are compared concerning dates of gearing, numbers of revolution, torques and power rating and design. In comparison with a fiveshaft-planetary gear in the well known design the alternative solution shows advantages in length and power-losses.
