The control of damper with magnetorheological fluid using a global characteristic of damper is dealt with. Global characteristic expresses damping force as two-dimensional function of velocity and acceleration of relative motion between piston rod and working cylinder. Course of damping force is created with input current of magnetic circuit. Characteristic of damper is directly declared by control of input magnetic current. To full analysis of magnetorheologic damper it is necessary to identificate damping force as function of velocity and current of magnetic field. Complex non-linear model of tested damper was created. It is possible to test various control algorithms. According to the most optimal structure the actuating value is derived from velocity respective from acceleration and it is corrected with feedback with integration character. Results of using this control structure are shown in details.
