The advantages of using Smart Pipeline Technology in maintaining oil flow through pipelines are discussed. It enables the real time monitoring of flow assurance parameters and allows the operators to take real time corrective actions on pipeline failures. It consists of innovative sensing and measurement methods to read variables such as strain, temperature, vibration and flow. It reduces the downtime and eliminates the chance of environmental contamination from pipeline failure.
