Turbo-piston diesel and gas-turbine engines were found perspective for the future development of military tank drives in Russia. They should have specific power 26 kW/t up to 309 kW/t (to day 18 kW/t to 22 kW/t), the average efficient operational pressure 1.8 MPa to 2.2 MPa, fuel injection pressure 150 MPa to 180 MPa and a controlled compressor with a compression ratio 4.5 to 6.0 and the thermal efficiency higher than 0.8. The newly constructed engines should be suitable for universal (civil) uses without any essential changes. The uses of the hybride engines comprise automobile industry, ship building, energy engineering as well as aircraft and rail-road transportation. Universalization of the engine production may contribute to an improvement of its profilability. A close cooperation between engine producers from particular branches of industry was found necessary for a fast progress in the engine construction. Use of mechanical or electric energy accumulators as well as electrotransmission was also recommended. Technical data of some to-day 6-cyllinder to 12-cyllinder diesel motors offered by foreign producers for military use were presented for comparison.
