The use of composite patch for repairing Floating Production Storage And Offloading units (FPSO) is discussed. Composite patch is an alternative to welding and do not requires shutdown of parts of the FPSO, also there is no possibility of fire hazards during the application procedure. A damaged area of an FPSO hull repaired by use of composite patch technology consist of three distinct elements which includes the substrate, the bond zone and the composite patch. Composite patches are adaptable to a number of different damage types and to virtually any substrate geometry.
