The measurement vehicle, which measures simultaneously the road profile on the all of tire contact points and the vehicle vibrations occurring at the same timing, was developed in cooperation with FKFS. This vehicle has made it possible to measure not only the road profile in running direction, but also the road profile in transversal direction. The validation is realized for a ride comfort simulation by means of comparison between the measured vibrations and the simulated vibration due to the same road profile as the input. The parallel friction model can precisely reproduce the amplitude dependency, which is typical for the dynamic stiffness of rubber bushes as well as the amplitude and frequency dependency of friction property. This model allows to reproduce not only the amplitude dependency but also the Payne effect. The parallel friction model has advantages in achieving higher accuracy In wider frequency range compared to the conventional model, so that it is crucial in widening the valid frequency range as well as the consideration of the elasticity of the vehicle body. The simulation discussed in this paper allows to calculate the accurate vehicle vibrations In the frequency range up to 15Hz by means of applying FTire , an engine hydro mount model, and parallel friction models for the suspension friction and the rubber bushes. From the computational load point of view, currently available personal computers (Pentium 4, 2GHz) can attain the real time factor (RTF) of 22 for the ride comfort simulation, which implements all the non-linear properties explalned in this paper including the four FTires.
