The Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAAV) is the United States Marine Corps newest weapon system. Designed to carry 18 personnel and a crew of three, it is an advanced weapon system that moves three times faster and carries greater firepower than the current amphibian, providing the Marines greater flexibility and a superior tactical advantage. Accelerated corrosion, repair, and gravelometer tests provided sufficient information to enable selection of coating systems for evaluation on the AAAV.
