Pollution of atmosphere by exhaust gases from internal combustion engines in transport facilities can be fully avoided if electric-driven motors will be broadly used. Russian experience and long-term results in conversion of Moskvich-412 car from gasoline to in-situ generated hydrogen was presented. A reaction of an activated aluminium with water was used as the source of hydrogen. A 50-km long run of the car without any replacement of the aluminium charge was treated as a standard. Any economic evidences for a general implementation of the conversion are available. A similar reaction of silicon with water was also taken into consideration.
