In-vehicle network standard, applied in vehicle has significant influence on safety, fault-tolerance and operation speed, especially in intelligent transportation systems. In driver assistance systems this has no critical importance. For IVS (Intelligent Vehicles Systems) the communication network based on time triggering is more predisposed than event triggering operation network. In time triggered management systems latencies are predefined and safety level is known. Redundancy of node controller, that is, fault tolerant unit (FTU) and main processor, that is, vehicle management unit (VMU) is necessary to keep high level of safety and fault-tolerance ability. Doubling of communication channel and redundancy of controllers secure fault-tolerance, robustness and dependability of safety-critical in-vehicle management system. Time triggered solutions are integrity susceptible as well. Compared with CAN protocol, TTP/C has some very important advantages, such as: fail-silence - the subsystem sends correct information or does not send it at all; the bus guardian is responsible for this, replicating the nodes, making FTUs, doubling the transmission channels.
