Report on faa's 3. Generation air traffic control system, the discrete address beacon system (Dabs), a major modification of existing atc radar beacon system. Providing more accurate air surveillance, eliminating saturation problems existing in high-density areas. the ability to interrogate individual aircraft, instead of obtaining replies from all aircraft illuminated at any instant by ground interrogator beam, will reduce interference problems.
