Recent results of satellite system studies have shown the importance of propagation anomalies such as f-layer scintillation and polarization fading (Faraday rotation). In particular, the scintillation caused by diffraction of the transmitted signal by the ionospheric irregularity structure has been found most significant in the higher and in equatorial latitudes. the present work will consider the former region.
