The Trigla with a length of 825 mm and a diameter of 43 mm, is remotely controlled from inside the pier and will be 'free swimming' after launching. The vehicle can operate in a space with a height of only 350 mm and enters this space through a pipe of only 47 mm in diameter. The Trigla is equiped with two controllable hinges, one allowing vertical bending, the other horizontal bending, thus enabling the vehicle to enter a space of only 350 mm in height. The hinges are activated by two pneumatic cylinders. Two rubber air balloons are mounted to create sufficient buoyancy. By means of an unique compensating system, the volumes of the balloons are independent of depth. The sensors are a miniature TV-camera of the CCD-type and a measurement gauge to measure sand an mud thickness. For propulsion and steering the Trigla has three propellers.
