NASA's long-range goals for space station programs presenting the human in the space as permanent presence activities are given. Automating all space activities is not justified so a lot of operation have to be realized as man-machine activities. Telepresence as a high-fidelity teleoperating system, including master-slave manipulators, used for spacecraft servicing, the orbital maneuvering vehicle, supports of material processing platforms etc. are suggested. The telepresence components as manipulator arms, control systems, sensors, and communication as the main parts of this systems are given. Telepresence applications and task analysis, long-term plans and goals can make this activities with increased autonomy in the future as the most favorable solution. (Jarc)
