This paper discusses the combining of hydraulic force and electronic controls to automatically control a three-point hitch on an Ag tractor maintaining draft pre-set through a load command by the tractor operator. The design is accomplished by the use of external load and position sensors that feed into a draft controller, comparing actual working conditions with operator requirements. The draft controller will then signal the control valve to make the system changes accurately and smoothly. This capability can be applied to virtually any type of energy ouput to sense pressure RPM, etc. The electronic signal can then give any type of hydraulic system response desired.
