The possibilities of liquid hydrogen application in commercial turbine-powered aircrafts are described. Advantages and disadvantages of alternative fuel are presented, where especially the effects of aircraft size, distance range and costs are dominant. The technology of LH2 (hydrogen) acquirement, the transition to hydrogen consumption and airport compatibilities are described. The noise problems by the LH2 use are smaller (5 dB quieter than synjet-fueled aircrafts).
