In the introduction of automation technology into train operation management, the traffic arrangement for quick recovery from the disorganized schedule caused by accident, etc. is a complicated problem and very difficult to be automated because of the difficulties of quantitative evaluation. Accordingly, for the computer-aided system in the traffic arrangement, a simulation-based system has been taken, and the efficiency of the simulation is strongly requested from the viewpoint of effectiveness at the time of emergency. In the paper, the authors show the method to express the restrictive conditions on the graph for the train operation model in the traffic arrangement, and propose the longest path method for efficient simulation as the search for the longest path on the graph. The authors also propose the parametric method to improve the efficiency further from the practical point of view by renewing the longest path.
